Our soil has become depleted because of the increased
use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals in our environment
thereby reducing the nutrients in our food. This has resulted in the
increased demand for fresh, organic produce which has been grown without
the use of these chemicals. However, even with the best organic diet,
it's virtually impossible to get all the nutrients your body needs from
food. As a result we are encouraged to take supplements in order to keep
our bodies and immune systems healthy and strong. Research has linked
a weak immune system with most cancers, and a high intake of certain
vitamins, with increased protection. Our cells also need increased protection
from free radical damage which can lead to cancer. Free radicals are
charged particles in our bodies produced by radiation, pollution, including
smoking, and eating fried and burnt food. Through a chain reaction they
can damage our bodies and immune systems if not quickly neutralized by
free-radical scavengers known as anti-oxidants. Vitamins A, C, E, beta
- carotene, zinc, selenium and co-enzyme Q10 are the essential antioxidants
which detoxify these free radicals and are the body's major defence against
them. We need a high intake of these antioxidants to protect us. Remember
that supplements should not be taken at the same time as medication,
alcohol or hot drinks as it affects the nutrients and their absorption.
The majority of vitamins sold are made from synthetic chemicals and are not the same as real vitamins from natural sources. This is also why some vitamins are cheap whilst others are more expensive. Recent Finnish studies in the New England Journal of Medicine, and experiments at the University of California, Berkeley, California have proved that the recommendation is to consume vitamins from high end nutritional supplement companies. They claim that if you take cheap vitamins made of these synthetic chemicals you are doing yourself more harm than good. Solgar's ingredients are natural and sourced for their quality and purity. All their products are made with 100% purified water to eliminate contaminants. They are committed to caring for the environment and to the carbon neutral initiative. To date they have planted over 7,500 tree saplings across the country.

bodies grow and maintain normal function. Researchers have associated low levels
with an increase in the risk of breast cancer. This vitamin is mostly found in
animal products such as meat, milk and eggs so vegetarians and vegans my be deficient.
Up to 25 mcg daily is the average but up to 40mcg can be taken.
Food Sources: Oysters, sardines, tuna, shrimp, soya milk, yeast extract, eggs.
Calcium - Click to Purchase - 500mg - 1000mg up to 3 x per day.
Depleted levels of calcium are linked to breast cancer. Smoking, oestrogen and
alcohol depletes calcium levels in our bodies. Calcium improves skin, bone and
teeth and helps to maintain the acid/alkaline balance. Surprisingly, milk and
dairy products can accelerate the rate at which calcium is lost from the body.
Magnesium helps with the absorption of calcium.

Vitamin
D - Click to Purchase - 4,000 iu - 10,000 iu daily. A study has shown that taking a large dose of Vitamin D every day could
halve your chance of developing cancers such as breast, ovarian, colon and prostate.
Researchers say that the vitamin can affect the rate of cell division in tumour
development and can trigger the self- destruction of cells developing in the
wrong way. Sunshine is the best way to get Vitamin D. Sunscreen blocks the UVB
rays that produce Vitamin D so a short burst of sun without protection ( about
15minutes for those with fair skins) avoiding the hours between 11am and 3pm
when the sun's rays are at their strongest is sufficient to get Vitamin D without
incurring skin damage. It is important to avoid overexposure because of the risk
of skin cancer, which is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with
more than 70,000 new cases per year, particularly after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Food Sources: oysters, herring, mackerel, salmon and eggs. The
main source is from sunlight on our skin.

A diet high in fibre reduces our breast cancer risk by up to 30% as the fibre
helps to eliminate oestrogen.
Folic Acid - Click to Purchase - 200 - 600 mcg daily.
Folic acid is crucial for cancer sufferers during radiotherapy treatment. According
to Cancer Research UK, folate may help protect against cancer. It is vital in
helping to create and maintain new cells and is known to minimise hair loss.
It reduces breast cancer risk in women who consume alcohol.
Food Sources: asparagus, apricots, avocado, broccoli, carrots,
green leafy vegetables, pumpkin, spinach, cauliflower, hazelnuts, cashew nuts,
sesame seeds, wheatgerm, sprouts, walnuts.

Black Walnut, Clove and Wormwood -
Parasites. According to Hulda G. Clark's book, The Cure For All advanced
Cancers, we all have parasites. The American Centre for Disease study
stated that the average US citizen carries approximately 2 lbs of
parasites around with them. It is the parasites own growth factors/hormones
that make our tumours grow ie. they cause the malignancy. Even in
Chinese medicine parasites are strongly linked to cancer. Kill the
parasites and then work on shrinking the tumors by working on your
diet, environment and supplements to help your body empty its toxic
tumor loads.
| Further information on parasites - Homeopathy can help to eradicate parasites and in certain cases boost the body's immune system to fight off any virus that may be present. Nosodes which help stimulate the body's specific defences to that particular toxin can be prescribed and the parasite or virus successfully eliminated. A diagnosis of breast cancer and further thoughts of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation can be very stressful. Stick to the healthy diet. Try to eat little and often. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid or cut down on animal fats, dairy products and processed food containing hydrogenated fats as cancer cells thrive on fats. Avoid all alcohol if possible as this will only put more strain on the liver. Stress can lead to tiredness so try to sleep or rest for a couple of hours per day and get at least eight hours sleep at night. Remember to keep positive. Meditate if you can and visualise yourself as protected and filled with a healing energy. Imagine yourself strong and well. Find a quiet time for yourself every day to reflect, pray and focus on peace and calm. (see How to Heal section). Have a complementary therapy treatment such as acupuncture, massage, reflexology, reiki or cranial osteopathy to de-stress, relax and re-balance your body and help to raise energy levels. Massage will help to shift toxins. Do regular gentle exercise such as yoga, t'ai chi and qi gong. Exercise helps to shift toxins and raises the body's endorphins. Yoga is often recommended as it strengthens the body's energy. Surround yourself with family and friends, keep happy and more importantly have a good laugh!

Chiropractic treatment - will benefit cancer patients in two ways, immune stimulation and pain relief. Immune stimulation is achieved by aligning of the spinal column. This allows the nerve impulses from the brain to all parts of the body, including organs, to function at their optimum level. This vital nerve supply then directs the organs and all other bodily functions to work in unison to heal and repair, in turn fighting harmful cancer cells. Pain relief is also through spinal alignment.
